One year ago, Detective Fred Randall found his wife and kids murdered in a secluded salvage yard. Since then, he has spent every minute of his life searching for the their killer. Fred's persistance has not gone unnoticed. Vince Cooper, the criminal responsible for his family's death has grown to admire Fred's obsession. Cooper decides to toy with the young detective and see how far Fred is willing to go.
One evening at the empty police precinct, Detective Randall receives a phone call from Cooper. Vince describes how he enjoyed murdering his family. The two men argue over the phone until the young Detective snaps. When Cooper realizes that Fred has lost his cool, he dares the Detective to re-visit his family's murder scene -- alone.
